Does My Company Need a Website?
These days, many businesses are on social media, begging the question of the need for a separate website.
We probably agree that having one or more social media accounts is an opportunity to communicate your presence to the community as long as you’re keeping it updated on a weekly basis.
What happens if you aren’t able to maintain its currency?
Your page starts to become irrelevant:
When a follower goes to your page to read more about your business and finds that the last message posted wasn’t recent and there isn’t a linked webpage they can visit to find the information they’re looking for, your business becomes lower on their list.
They will go to a competitor.
Now let’s say you or your social media administrator is adequately maintaining posts and updates. Do you still need a website?
Absolutely!
Why?
If a social media follower is interested in your products/services and wants to learn more about your offerings and you have a link to your website posted, your business has more credibility and visibility than a business that doesn’t have a website.
The more presence your business has, the more likely your business will see higher sales conversions. It’s just that simple.
Is a website overkill?
Only if you think having the following core business elements don’t matter:
· Competitive advantage
· Customer engagement
· Enhanced brand building and credibility
· Online visibility
· Sales & conversions
· Digital storefront
